Well Played: Social Media for Good: SickKids Hospital Radiothon

My good friend Eli Singer is doing some amazing work for SickKids hospital with his team at Segal Communications.

The annual SickKids radiothon is the world’s largest of it’s kind. In partnership with Astral Media, three radio stations Newstalk 1010 CFRB, 97.3 EZ Rock, and 99.9 Mix FM broadcast 12 hours a day for three days, showcasing the experiences of patients, families and staff in an effort to raise awareness and money.

This year, the campaign includes a daily videoblog that captures candid moments and stories right from the SickKids Atrium. The videos can be accessed via your usual channels (YouTube, Facebook, etc) The great thing about social networking, is the ability for people to mobilize around causes that matter, and combining our resources to make a difference.

These videos were made to be shared, so if you like what you see, pass them along to people you know. And, if you have a few bucks to spare, consider donating them to the campaign. Here’s the first in the series. You can see the rest here.
